KINGSTON, Jamaica – The first race on the Caymanas Monday card was torn asunder by the number of late non-starters.

Originally there were nine horses nominated in the five-year-old and upwards claimer ($180,000 - $150,000) at four furlongs but four were declared late non-starters leaving a total of five starters and the immediate suspension of place betting.

When the race finally got underway after a long wait, it was the watered down 2-5 favourite Special Prosecutor ridden by Bebeto Harvey and trained by Victor Williams who came out as the easy winner. Second was Abogado (Anthony Thomas) with D M Cutie finishing third.

This was a long-awaited victory for Harvey who was once a promising apprentice while Williams was winning his sixth in 2021 to mark his best ever season.
