APPEAL – JOCKEY TEVIN FOSTER vs. STEWARDS’ DECISION
KINGSTON, Jamaica - On Thursday 1st September, 2022, the Jamaica Racing Commission heard an appeal submitted by Jockey Tevin Foster against the Stewards’ decision handed down on June 14, 2022, to suspend him for a period of Four (4) race days and impose a fine of Thirteen Thousand Dollars ($13,000.00). This decision is in relation to interference caused to horse No. 2 TAURUS BOY, during the running of the 7th race whilst approaching the 600-meter point of the race.
After carefully reviewing the film of the race and hearing submissions made by Mr. Edward Barnes who represented Jockey Tevin Foster, along with submissions from the Jamaica Racing Commission’s Operations Steward, the Commission ruled that the fine be removed and the suspension period of (4) race days reduced to 2 race days, which will commence on September 17, 2022.
