KINGSTON, Jamaica – Taking up the lead after four furlongs of the 8 ½ furlongs down for competition in the ninth race were completed, Summer Sun under an enterprising ride by apprentice Raddesh Roman took home the Commissioner’s Cup for owner Carlton Watson and trainer Wayne DaCosta.

Although challenged in the straight by 2-5 favourite She’s An Introvert, Roman kept the imported Summer Sun going and the big chestnut colt pulled away for a 2 ½ lengths victory.

She’s An Introvert was second with Big Bang third.

This was the second winner on the day for both Roman and DaCosta.
