KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a bold front running effort Kalahari with Robert Halledeen in the saddle stole a march on his six rivals in the fifth race - a Restricted Allowance (four-year-old-and up) non-winners of three over 8 ½ furlongs just a short while ago.
Once Halledeen settled Kalahari in front it became a matter of who would be second and that place went to 5-2 chance Sir Puddington and third was the position of the 6-5 Royal Aviator. It was Halledeen’s second winner on the day. Kalahari is trained by Anthony Nunes.
In the end Kalahari won by 3 ¾ lengths in a final time of 1:49.3.
So, after five races on the Labour Day card, a favourite is yet to win.
