KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was a simple afternoon stroll for the imported gelding Stranger Danger in the fifth race on today’s mid-week card at Caymanas Park.
Racing as the overwhelming 1-9 favourite in a 6 ½ furlong Open Allowance event for horses three-year-olds and up, Stranger Danger with Omar Walker in the saddle stayed with the early pace set by Another Vigorous (Christopher Mamdeen) and Hilly’s Halo (Anthony Thomas) before starting to really step in the last two furlongs winning by an ever increasing seven lengths running into a strong headwind.
The splits recorded were 22.3 x 45.0 x 1:10.4 for a final time of 1:18.2.
Second went to Another Vigorous (6-1) with Hilly’s Halo (7-2) third.
Stranger Danger was the second winner on the day for trainer Wayne DaCosta.
