KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Phillip Parchment brought home his 100th winner Heart of A Lion in the Jamaica Day fifth.
Trained by Jason DaCosta, Heart of a Lion's success came in a three-year-old maiden condition race going 5 ½ furlongs.
Heart of a Lion was settled-in just off the leading pair of Infinity Ace (Richard Henry) and Traditional Boy. The front two exchanged the advantage with Infinity Ace moving to be the sole leader.
Parchment stuck to the inside rails and caught the leader when they entered the lane. After that Heart of a Lion picked-up the tempo moving away to win by 5 ½ lengths at odds of 5-1.
Second running on was Prosecco (Robert Halledeen) with Infinity Ace third.
