Nunes on the boil with 4th winner, Adonis, app. $700,000 behind DaCosta

KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a terrific assault trainer Anthony Nunes saddled his fourth winner on today’s 11-race card at Caymanas Park when Adonis a chance ride for jockey Dane Nelson easily took the ninth race over five furlongs straight at odds of 6-5.

Again, based on preliminary calculations, Nunes is now ahead of DaCosta by approximately $828,000 on the day but overall, Nunes is behind by approximately $710,000 with one race to go, the tenth, where both trainers have horses.

In the ninth race both Nunes and DaCosta have no runners, and the same is so in the final race on the day, the 11th.

Adonis won by a 1 ¼ lengths with splits of 22.2 x 44.3. Second went to Sir Jhun Jhun Wala (Oneil Scott at odds of 5-1 with third the position of My Sister (Aaron Chatrie) who went off at odds of 9-2.
