KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2017 champion two-year-old and 2018 St Leger winner Marquesas makes a welcomed return to competitive racing in a one-mile Overnight Allowance call on the 10-race midweek programme at Caymanas Park.

There is no doubt that Marquesas who is coming off a break lasting over 230 days is talented but the likes of Donate, Drummer Boy, Lottery Ticket, Secret Traveller and Bruce Wayne will not make Marquesas' task of winning easy.

Marquesas' trainer Michael Marlowe is a patient man as he has waited and waited on his charge and after meticulous preparation has now decided to race him.

Even with his well-timed preparation, Marquesas may well need a pipe opener or two to once again find his hoofs in competitive efforts.

Nevertheless, it really good to see Marquesas back on the track as heaven knows that we need horses to move up to the top grade.
