KINGSTON, Jamaica – After umpteen attempts Rum With Me finally gave his connections something to cheer about when he flowed to victory in the Caymanas Saturday seventh.
Rum With Me ridden by Dick Cardenas, his second on the day, won a four-year-old and upwards – non-winners of two call travelling six furlongs.
Trainer of Rum With Me, Patrick Lynch watched as Cardenas kept his mount in fourth place as Chitu Prince (Roger Hewitt) led the field at a merry clip.
Rum With Me started to go by horses leaving the three-furlong marker and entered the last two furlongs for the stretch drive with only Chitu Prince in front.
Cardenas pushed Rum With Me and the four-year-old bay colt responded by surging by Chitu Prince, winning easily by 4 ¼ lengths.
Chitu Prince was second and Elitist third.
