KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eighth race on Saturday, March 25, 2023, is a three-year-old maiden call for fillies only going 5 ½ furlongs.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the 12 horses entered is provided below for the scrutiny of readers.

– AVA’S SUNSHINE is a bay filly (May 17) by Emperor Hall out of Toot The Blues trained by Norman Smith with Calvin Smith aboard. Was never a winning factor on debut (March 18), and that will continue on Saturday.

– JUBBIE WAP WAP is a grey filly (April 19) by Speith out of Wap trained by Michael Thomas with Charlton Riley. Cannot realistically manage these at this time.

– TEQUILA FLIGHT is a grey filly (April 3) by Speith out of Alice and Trixie trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster. Was a late non-starter when scheduled to make her debut on March 12. Nothing much has changed with Tequila Flight, she will give of her best which at this time will not be enough.

– SHE’S A MIRAGE is a bay filly (March 29) by Casual Trick out of Full Moon’s Enough trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. Slowly finding her way in recent times, finishing second and then third in her last two racing efforts. Both those runs were over short distances and as one of the more experienced in this lot, She’s A Mirage has nothing to fear.

– BROWN SKIN GIRL is a chestnut filly (April 22) by Bold Conquest out of Girl Talk trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Allen aboard. Did not excite when facing the starter for the first occasion on March 18. Needs more time.

– SUGAR SUGAR is a chestnut filly (April 22) by Berlino Di Tiger out of Misty trained by Michael Marlowe with Anthony Thomas aboard. Sugar Sugar has finished sixth both times she has raced. The main consideration for this filly is the change of rider from Ramon Nepare to Anthony Thomas.

– LION CHARMER is a chestnut filly (Mar 29) by Lion Tamer out of Charming Beauty trainer by Patrick Lynch with Dane Nelson holding the reins. Did not perform well on her debut run (February 26). Showed marked improvement the second time out with a second-place finish behind Wow How. Lion Charmer has been kept bust at exercise, making her a life threat in this one.

– TUTS is a chestnut filly (March 19) by Berlino Di Tiger out of For Trixie trained by Richard Azan with Romario Spencer aboard. A debutante, who will learn.

– THE LOVE OF GOD is a chestnut filly (February 22) by Lion Tamer out of The Principal trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Javaniel Patterson aboard. Getting her act together and will get there with time.

– ARIA’S REIGN is a brown filly (April 8) by Resurgence out of Nuclear Warning trained by Steven Todd with Raddesh Roman aboard. Came into punters’ view on March 18, when finishing third (4 furlongs) on March 18, behind De Lye La and Mr Fete. With that run in her hoofs, Aria’s Reign has to be considered seriously.

– GAHLY GAHLY LINKS is a chestnut filly (March 5) by Hedge Fund out of Danzig La Rae trained by Jason DaCosta with Abigail Able in the saddle. Finding her way, with as good a chance as any.

– MAGGIE’S TRIX is an imported in-utero chestnut filly (May 15) trained by Dale Murphy with Matthew Bennett in the saddle. Ran third when facing the starter for the first time. The distance is right for Maggie’s Trix, who is a live threat.
