KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 10-race Caymanas Saturday programme got off to a good start for punters with 1-2 on favourite San Siro obliging despite being slowly out of his starting stall.

Trained by Lawrence Freemantle, San Siro was successful in a five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) contest at seven furlongs. The race was run in honour of veterinarian Dr St Aubyn Bartlett.

After missing the break, Nelson took his time in guiding San Siro through the pack to arrive at the top of the lane in a striking position.

After navigating some traffic issues, San Siro took over to win by four lengths. Second was Thunderstrike (Paul Francis) at 50-1 for a big exacta payout of $2,756. Prince Dominick (Samantha Fletcher) finished third.
