Corazon seeks win number 4

With no trophy race on the 10-race mid-week card at Caymanas Park a lot of interest is going to be focussed on the three-year-olds as they continue their earnest preparation for this year’s Classic races.
One of the top two-year-olds of last year, the Anthony Nunes trained Corazon faces probably her fiercest opposition yet when she takes on non-winners of three rivals including foreigners over six furlongs (1,200 metres).
SUPER SPARKLE: (4.b. f USA Bluegrass Cat – Karakorum Karen) – Races for the first time since a dismal run on November 10, 2018 when she finished way behind My Sister going seven furlongs. Although pretty consistent, Super Sparkle’s has tapered off somewhat and tomorrow even with the cheek pieces her task of winning is not an easy one. Despite all of this, Super Sparkle is light and if she sets off in front might prove difficult to catch.
BOLD AFLAIR: (3.dkb. c – Bold Warrior – Affair With Aflair) – Has been coming along nicely since his debut win on November 21, 2018 travelling six-and-a-half furlongs (1,300 metres). Bold Aflair comes from an in-form stables but against these is going to be found wanting. His progress, however, should be closely monitored. Bold Aflair at this early stage of his career seems to prefer going a bit longer.
BOLD SMILE: (3.b. f – Bold Warrior – What A Smile) – The learning curve continues for this filly. Note that the blinkers are off replaced by the visor.
SHE’S SYMBOLIC: (4.b. f – Deputy Glitters – Cerebra) – Still finding her feet at the non-winners of three level and with the opposition so strong, She’s Symbolic should be outdone.
HARRY’S TRAIN: (USA Discreetly Mine – Sweet Dixie Girl) – Troublesome foreigner who did well on December 22, 2018 when finishing third by a length behind Brandy and My Super Girl venturing a mile. Harry’s Train’s only victory to date was over the two turn - nine furlongs and 25 yards course which gives the impression that Harry’s Train might not be quite comfortable with the six-furlong distance of this race.
CORAZON: (3.b. f – Blue Pepsi Lodge – My Heartbeat) – This filly won her first three races but disappointed somewhat in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes (one mile) on Boxing Day of last year. In that premier juvenile encounter, Corazon end in fourth position just seven lengths behind in finishing order, Run Thatcher Run, Supreme Soul and Earn Your Stripes. Corazon enters tomorrow’s race well prepared and ready to show more of her vast potential. A clocking of 1:19.2 for 1,300 metres is sufficient to conclude that Corazon is going to be happy with 1,200 metres. Difficult to oppose in this one. Of special note is that Corazon will be ridden by Robert Halledeen who based on the last race day appears to be now nestled in the camp of trainer Anthony Nunes.
