KINGSTON, Jamaica – At the start of the Boxing Day race day it was announced that apprentice Reyan Lewis would not be riding on the 11-race card at Caymanas Park.
Another apprentice Kiaman McGregor got the ride on JamalJames in the sixth and made full use of the opportunity. In a close finish with Dyna’s Pride with the veteran Shane Ellis aboard, JamalJames got home by the slimmest of margins, a nose, at odds of 7-2. Dyna’s Pride offered odds of even money with third place being the location of Sendamessagetomama at odds of 4-1.
The win on JamalJames was his third. The winning time was 1:27.3 for seven furlongs.
