KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a thrilling battle that would have brought the house down if there were spectators in the stands, young apprentice Youville Pinnock on Talented Tony was able to nip his more illustrious colleague Dane Nelson who was atop 3-5 favourite Dee Danger, in the second of 10 races at Caymanas Park moments ago.

Competing in an Optional Claiming event ($550,000 - $500,000) going five furlongs round, Dee Danger as expected proceeded to the front of the seven horse pack. Dee Danger was tested on the lead by Golden Destiny but was able to enter the stretch with a clear advantage.

Pinnock had Talented Tony K just behind the front runners and started to challenge Dee Danger on the outside from the start of the last two furlongs.

Both riders were giving their all, but with a quick change of hold with half-a-furlong to go, Pinnock got Talented Tony K home in the final stride.

Talented Tony K trained by Dennis Pryce went off at odds of 3-1. The nine-year-old bay horse won in a time of 1:00.3.

Dee Danger was second with Capturemyship (Anthony Thomas) third.
