KINGSTON, Jamaica – Calculus, a three-year-old bay colt by Sensational Slam – Trinket Box put himself into Classic reckoning with a smashing win in the Sir Howard Stakes which was the ninth race on the Caymanas Sunday programme.

Trained by champion, Anthony Nunes and ridden by joint champion Dane Neslon, Calculus raced far behind the leader Regnant (Shane Ellis).

Regnant racing for only the second time in his career maintained his lead in the straight and was galloping resolutely with Ellis giving nothing away.

Then starting from way behind on the inside rails, Nelson and Calculus burst through the pack and in a jiffy was up on Regnant, the two engage for a short while then Calculus moved away with Nelson looking across as he sealed the win by half a length. Billy Whizz (Anthony Thomas) was third.

This was the second winner on the day for Nelson.
