KINGSTON, Jamaica - THE three-year-old and upwards Open Allowance call for the Pari-Mutuel Department Trophy is the main attraction on the 11-race card tomorrow (May 28) at Caymanas Park.
Although only six horses have been nominated in this five-furlong-straight event, the competition is sufficiently strong to provide brisk betting.
Below is the analysis of the six runners entered in this $1.2-million event.
GOD OF LOVE: (6 b g by Adore The Gold – Shanda D) – Ran out an easy 4-length winner when travelling five furlongs round on May 21. That win was in the class below, however God of Love, who has been a consistent runner at this level, comes into this race well-tuned and could make it two in two. Plus God of Love, in moving up a grade, has been allotted 117lb, which is 9lb less than he carried on last, and weight always makes a difference.
  1. GENERATIONAL: (5 ch g by Fearless Vision – Electrifying) – Generational has no chance of winning.
  1. DUKE: (6 gr h by Casual Trick – Lady MacBeth) – A consistent runner who was beaten by King Arthur in the recent Lady Geeta Trophy over 6 furlongs (1,200m). Duke also goes well over this galloping course and could prove too strong for rivals as he can stay with the pace and then offer his trademark kick when the horses move to the main track.
  1. BIG BIG DADDY: (5 b c by Natural Selection – Just A Flutter) – Essentially, Big Big Daddy is a filler.
  1. HELICOPTER: 5 b g by Storm Craft – Face Tracker) – Should not pose any threat for the main protagonists.
  1. GO DEH GIRL (USA): (4 dkb f by Justin Phillip – Pontificating) – Go Deh Girl is in a very tough spot as she makes her return after a break of 56 days. This filly may need more time to find her best footing.
