KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second of three races dedicated to three-year-olds is the day’s (Saturday, September 3, 2022) seventh. The race is set for five furlongs round, and is confined to fillies and mares and has attracted nine starters, who are native bred non-winners of two, and for imported three-year-olds and upwards.
THE QUICK GALLOPER provides below the analysis of the nine starters.
– RUPUNZEL is a bay filly (April 9) by Savoy Stomp out of Miss Pasion trained by Patrick Fong with Dane Dawkins aboard. This filly has raced 18 times, and apart from her maiden victory a long time ago has done very little to garner any interest from racegoers. Rewind to 14 days ago, when Rupunzel finally showed up, finishing fifth, 3 ¾ lengths behind the winner Champion Bubbler, Awesome Prince, and Lacrimae at five furlongs straight. Enhancing the chances of Rupunzel is the change of jockeys from Jawani Forbes to Dane Dawkins. That alone is enough to give respect to Rupunzel.
– MINIDEWAK is a bay filly (February 21) by Lion Tamer out of Aura Mas trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster aboard. Minidewak is finding her way at the non-winners of two-level. She can be close to the pacesetters and strike in the straight. In the peak of form at present, and will be among the decision-makers in this one.
– BABYLIKE is a dark bay filly (May 1) by Savoy Stomp out of Ladylike trained by Philip Feanny with Dick Cardenas aboard. Babylike finished third, a head behind Minidewak (5 ½ furlongs) on August 7. Minidewak faces Babylike at a slight disadvantage in the handicaps with the trip much more to Babylike's liking. Trainer Feanny has decided to put on the visor, which is a clear indication, that Babylike is coming to give of her best.
– ALEXA’S SECRET is a chestnut filly (February 26) by Sensational Slam out of Alexa’s Song trained by Robert Pearson with Roger Hewitt aboard. Can be safely taken out of winning consideration.
– LACRIMAE is a grey filly (March 10) by Savoy Stomp out of Pleasant Ending trained by Philip Feanny with Bebeto Harvey aboard. Lacrimae has come close in her three efforts at the non-winners of two-level. However, the choice of Bebeto Harvey to ride is a strange one, yet even with that consideration, Lacrimae cannot be denied a winning chance. Note, Lacrimae races with the tongue tie off.
– GRACEFULLY MADE is a bay filly (April 19) by Blue Pepsi Lodge out of Peace By Peace trained by Alford Brown with Jordan Barrett aboard. Gracefully Made is the speed in this conest and has to be caught. Note, Gracefully Made races with the figure 8 on and the cheek pieces off.
– MARKET PLACE is a bay filly (February 25) by Markey Rally out of Miss Emily trained by Gresford Smith with Aaron Chatrie aboard. Needs more time to get acquainted with this grouping.
– FLY MESSENGER FLY is a chestnut filly (April 27) by Northern Giant out of Preach Preacher trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Thomas aboard. Despite the experience of 21 starts, Fly Messenger Fly cannot manage these.
– WOWTASTIC is a bay filly (February 20) by Perfect Curlin out of Sarah Barracuda trained by Anthony Nunes with Reyan Lewis aboard. Wowtastic did herself proud when finishing fifth (7 days ago) by two lengths behind upset winner Great Trick. On Saturday, Wowtastic faces a tougher group of rivals and will learn for future endeavours.
