Shadowfax
KINGSTON, Jamaica – There are three, three-year-old races on the Sunday card of September 11, 2022, at Caymanas Park.
Two of those races are for three-year-olds at the non-winners of two level, with the third a maiden engagement.
The first of the non-two races is the eighth with ten horses entered at 6 ½ furlongs.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S ANALYSIS is provided below.
1 – HIDDEN VALLEY is a chestnut filly (March 28) by Soul Warrior out of Little Thunder trained by Richard Azan with Jordan Barrett aboard. Hidden Valley did well on last (August 20) when finishing fourth, 3 1/3 lengths behind the winner. The extended trip of 6 ½ furlongs will suit this filly. Expect Hidden Valley to come from behind the pacesetters in the final furlong.
2 – HA GOW SIU MEI is a bay colt (February 23) by Sensational Slam out of Gaining Traction trained by Anthony Nunes with Shane Ellis aboard. After returning from a long absence, Ha Gow Siu Mei won over the straight course, then followed with with a second-place effort at non-winners of two at the same trip. On Sunday, Ha Gow Siu Mei tries the round with 6 ½ furlongs posing no issues.
3 – PEAKY BLINDERS is a chestnut gelding (April 6) by Mshawish out of Visionary Wonder trained by Steven Todd with Phillip Parchment aboard. Trying to rediscover himself, needs time. Note, Peaky Blinders races with the blinkers on.
4 – WOWZA (USA) is a dark bay colt (March 5) by Jack Milton out of Springtime Rain trained by Anthony Nunes with Carlos Blake aboard. This foreigner has yet to display anything of worth.
5 – PIP is a bay colt (March 27) by Perfect Curlin out of Noon It Is trained by Anthony Nunes with Reyan Lewis aboard. Has been working his way into fitness, plus Pip has been looking good at exercise and may spring a surprise.
6 – AKA STORM is a bay colt (April 23) by Storm Craft out of Kandi With A K trained by Patrick Lynch with Omar Walker aboard. This is AKA Storm’s first effort in non-two, he will learn.
7 – HOWILOOKIN is a bay colt (February 12) by Western Classic out of Gold Charm trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster aboard. Got off the mark 22 days ago, and will have to wait before earning his second victory.
8 – FLY MESSENGER FLY is a chestnut filly (April 27) by Northern Giant out of Preach Preacher trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Thomas aboard. With 22 runs, Fly Messenger is by far the most seasoned in this line-up. She was heavily backed on September 2 (5 furlongs round), but disappointed her backers. That run can be considered a warm-up, and with the distance more appealing, Fly Messenger Fly, will have a say.
9 – SHADOWFAX is a bay colt (May 5) by Legal Process out of Aretha trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Shane Richardson aboard. Shadowfax returns after a break of 126 days, while catching the eyes in the mornings. Shadowfax cannot be ruled out. Note, Lasix has been removed from Shadowfax.
10- PRINCE SANJAY is a chestnut filly (April 6) by Emperor Hall out of Dalla Fifty trained by Steven Todd with Romario Spencer aboard. Has only an outsider’s chance of winning. Note, Prince Sanjay races with the tongue tie on.
