KINGSTON, Jamaica – A dogged effort by War Hero gave the 12-year-old bay gelding victory in the third race of 11 on the Ash Wednesday card.

War Hero again with Jerome Innis in the saddle and trained by Wilfred Chin rallied in the final furlong after being overtaken by 3-5 on favourite Big Black Nation with Shane Ellis in the saddle.

Third went to 19-1 chance Bigman Union.

This was the second consecutive win for War Hero who is one of the oldest horses currently racing at Caymanas Park.
