KINGSTON, Jamaica –  It is turning out to be a truly happy 2021 for trainer Leroy Tomlinson after he won the first two races on the New Year’s Day programme currently taking place at Caymanas Park. Tomlinson took the first with Portion and the second just moments ago with Miss Hazel.

Jockey Reyan Lewis atop Miss Hazel waited as Don Almighty (Aaron Chatrie) blazed the early trail. Don Almighty opened up while navigating the half mile turn as Miss Hazel started to move closer.

Entering the straight for the last two furlongs, Don Almighty was still in front but his lead was whittling down as Miss Hazel got into top gear.

Miss Hazel went by comfortably to win by 4 ½ lengths over Thunderstrike and Sweet Surprise.

This was Miss Hazel second win from 18 starts.
