KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2020 RonRon Trophy was held-up at the start as horse #2 Speechless was injured in the gates as the starter was just about to press the off button.

Speechless was then declared a late non-starter leaving six horses to compete in the Restricted Stakes event for non-winners of three horses going six furlongs.

When the race eventually got underway it was a gate to wire affair for the US bred Sir Alton ridden by Anthony Thomas and trained by Wayne DaCosta.

Glock (Dick Cardenas) continued her development by running on strongly to finish second while Eroy (Omar Walker) another US importee in the third slot.

For the second consecutive occasion on the trot, Sir Alton finished with a new Stakes record, this time clocking 1:11.1 for the six furlongs distance.

Sir Alton gave Thomas his third winner on the day while it was the second for DaCosta.
