KINGSTON, Jamaica – Owner, trainer and breeder of Money Monster, Fitzroy Glispie got reacquainted with the winners’ enclosure following the win by his three-year-old colt in the I’msatisfied Trophy.
Money Monster whose win came in a Restricted Allowance 11 contest for three-year-old –non winners of two – run over nine furlongs and 25 yards - gave Glipsie his first winner since the resumption of racing on June 20.
Money Monster with apprentice Reyan Lewis doing the riding duties lead when the gates opened with Akeem The Dream (Omar Walker) and Weekend Jazz (Dick Cardenas) providing the early challenges.
Lewis kept Money Monster on the inside rails throughout the race asking the Glispie trainee to push on with three furlongs left in the contest.
By the time they entered the last two furlongs, Tomohawk (Anthony Thomas) had moved into what seemed to be a winning position, but it was not to be as Money Monster was brave and strong, pushing away to win by 3 ½ lengths.
SenCity (Dane Nelson) who was slowly out of the gates and who raced in last position for most of the backstretch ran on strongly to earn second. Tomohawk was third.
The winning time was 1:57.0.
