DISTANCE – Six furlongs

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Caymanas Sunday race day started with Dane Nelson four wins behind leader Anthony Thomas as the two continue their battle for the honour of being crowned champion jockey 2020.

Now that lead is three as Nelson riding a patient race got the job done on the Ray Matthews trained Lazer Light in the Caymanas Sunday second.

Nelson was with the early pace set by Herecomestheboss (Odeen Edwards) but backed down to almost second to last in the field of 10.

Entering the straight, Nelson decided to take the route on the inside rails and soon took over with a furlong to go. It was then that Doom Patrol who had a poor start from the one draw loomed large on the outside with a pumping Aaron Chatrie but it was too little – too late as Lazer Light was not for the catching, winning by 1 ¼ lengths.

Doom Patrol was second and Smarty Tradition third.
