KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a ride that belied his time in the saddle, apprentice Reyan Lewis conjured a superb offering in the saddle to claim the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission Trophy feature on Zephyr just moments ago.

Lewis was engaged in what literally turned out to be a match race with Another Vigorous (Shane Ellis) from the starter let them go in the 5 ½ furlong event.

Entering the straight, Zephyr and Another Vigorous were heads apart with the former on the outside.

Lewis got Zephyr to edge just ahead but with Ellis pushing hard Another Vigorous reclaimed the advantage by a smidgen but Lewis rallied Zephyr to push ahead where it mattered most by a head.

Third was Ras Emanuel with Chace The Great the even money favourite fourth.

Trained by Wayne Parchment, Zephyr clocked a fast 1:05.3 for 5 ½ furlongs.
