KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fifth race on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, sees three-year-old maidens, fillies only, going at each other at a distance of 5 ½ furlongs.

For most of these three-year-olds, it is the last opportunity to benefit from the larger purse of these cohort events before passing on to the cheaper four-year-old grouping in 2023.

The Quick Galloper analysis of the 13 starters is provided below.

– OPHELIA’S MOM is a bay filly (March 5) by Casual Trick out of Mom’s Student. From her 8 starts to date, Ophelia’s Mom has not produced a significant effort. Note. Ophelia’s Mom races with the figure 8 and cheekpieces on.

– SELECT ME is a dark bay filly (February 13) by Natural Selection out of Excellence. This filly has been on the improve over her last three runs. Well prepared with title-chasing Dane Dawkins holding the reins, Select Me is going to decide the outcome of this one.

– ZION’S PRINCESS is a bay filly (April 25) by Midnight Hawk out of Lookatmenow. Zion’s Princess has raced all of 17 times with nothing much to from these encounters. This trend is going to continue. Zion’s Princess races with the tongue tie on and the figure eight off.

– EMPRESS NAKELIA is a chestnut filly (February 28) by Deputy Glitters out of Aguila. Nothing as yet from her six starts. Will get there in 2023. Note, Empress Nakelia races with the figure 8 on.

– AIRSTREAM is a grey filly (March 13) by Midnight Hawk out of Phalaenopsis. Showed speed in her only outing when finishing fifth going four furlongs. Will show improvement but not enough to win. Note, Airstream races with the visor on.

– ANOTHER WAVE is a bay filly (February 27) by Savoy Stomp out of High Cube. This filly is a consistent one, always finding a way to hit the board. Her time could be at hand.

– WILDFIRE is a grey filly (April 18) by Smokin Man out of Forest Flame. Will gain experience.

– OOH SO LONG is a bay filly (May 27) by Force De Jour by Oolong. The experience of this filly, 21 starts, cannot be underestimated, yet winning is not on the table.

– SHE’S HALL DAT is a chestnut filly (March 9) by Market Rally out of Noassemblyrequired. Showed up nine days ago when finishing third behind Keturah. Slowly, finding her way to the winning post but not on Tuesday. Note, She’s Hall dat races with the tongue tie on.

– RHOSA THE WARRIOR is a bay filly (May 20) by Soul Warrior out of Rhosa Klebb. Still learning.

– MILLINIUM STAR is a bay filly (February 18) by Storm Craft out of Running Star. Has no realistic chance of winning.

– DANCING WITH THE CAT is a bay filly (April 23) by Emperor Hall out of Dancing Wizard. Has no realistic chance of winning. Note, Dancing With The Cat races with the visor and tongue tie off.

– PRINCESS SYLVIA is a chestnut filly (May 4) by Soul Warrior out of May Flower. Highly touted by many going into this race. Princess Sylvia has one outing to her credit, a seven-placed finish on December 3. Princess Sylvia was ridden by Abigail Able, now she has the services of Anthony Thomas, who has forged a strong partnership of late with trainer Philip Feanny.
