KINGSTON, Jamaica – Following victory by the odds-on favourite in the first, it was time for the upsets to begin, and that happened in the Caymanas Monday second.

Whatever coming from way of the pace with Dane Dawkins in the saddle for trainer Ryan Darby was able to get up just in time to nip 7-2 chance Stallwalking’girl (Devon A Thomas) in a three-year-old and upwards claiming contest ($350,000 - $300,000) run over a mile. Sir Arjun Babu (Anthony Thomas) the 1-5 favourite was third.

When the gates opened, the pair of Herecomestheboss (Javaniel Patterson) and Stallwalkin’girl vied for the lead with Sir Arjun Babu comfortable in third. At this stage Whatever was nowhere to be seen.

After four furlongs were completed, Sir Arjun Babu shot to the front and entered the straight with a clear advantage but as always is the case started to drift towards the stands.

At this time, Whatever was still making up a lot of ground.

As Sir Arjun Babu faded, Whatever found his best and nipped Stallwalkin’girl by a short head.
