Sackatoga Stable LLC revealed Thursday that Tiz the Law's 4-year-old campaign will start with the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup on Jan. 23 at Gulfstream Park — and Kentucky Derby and Breeders' Cup Classic-winning jockey John Velazquez will be aboard.

The stable said in a news release, "The opportunity to secure a Hall of Fame rider who will be based at Gulfstream Park this winter and can regularly work Tiz the Law prior to the Pegasus presents a great opportunity. Sackatoga Stable and Barclay Tagg Racing Stable are looking forward to working with Johnny Velazquez toward a successful racing year for the Tiz the Law."

Manny Franco rode the Constitution colt to wins in four G1 races in 2020: the Travers, the Belmont Stakes, the Florida Derby and the Holy Bull. Franco also was aboard for Tiz the Law's second-place finish in the Kentucky Derby and sixth-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Classic.

After the Classic, trainer Barclay Tagg questioned Franco's ride. "He said he was rank on him. The winner was rank, and he should have just followed him around. I had him ready to run, but I can’t ride for them.”

In the release, Sackatoga expressed gratitude to Franco for his work aboard Tiz the Law.

"Sackatoga thanks Manny Franco for all of the success that he has had in 2019 and 2020."

Tiz the Law arrived at Palm Meadows Training Center on Tuesday, according to the release, "a bit tired but in great condition following his trip from Keeneland. He will have an easy next few weeks before going back to serious training in preparation for the Pegasus World Cup."
