Classic hero Coroebus was fatally injured in the Prix du Moulin at ParisLongchamp on Sunday.

Charlie Appleby’s 2000 Guineas winner, who followed up in the St James's Palace Stakes, was making his challenge around a furlong and a half out he crashed to the ground under William Buick.

Buick was able to get to his feet, but it was subsequently confirmed Coroebus had suffered fatal injuries.

Ed Walker’s Dreamloper was a convincing winner of the race.
