KINGSTON, Jamaica – Gallopja.com looks at the 11 races down for competition tomorrow’s (December 8, 2018) at Caymanas Park.

RACE ONE – The main contenders to decided this 4-year-old and up maiden race over five furlongs straight are Born To Live, First Selection, Twilight Heroine and General Mubaraak. Twilight Heroine with Dane Nelson in the saddle for owner Stephan Narinesingh is expected to give leading trainer Anthony Nunes a good start to the day. Expect Twilight Heroine to go off at odds of 4-5.

RACE TWO – This Restricted Allowance event for 5-year-old and up – non-winners- of two to be run over 5 furlongs round should boil down to be a straight fight between Freedom For Eds and Mrs Awesome. The vote goes to Freedom For Eds mainly because of the presence of well-established rider Shane Ellis over young apprentice Anthony Allen on Mrs Awesome. Expected odds are – Freedom For Eds 4-5 and Mrs Awesome 3-1.

RACE THREE – A Restricted Allowance 4 for 5-year-olds and up - non-winners- of three coming down the straight is setting up to be quite a battle involving Cat’s Rigger, the late blooming Dunrobin seeking his third consecutive win and Transition Time. After careful examination Transition Time is the choice but only just over Dunrobin. The expected odds likely are Transition Time 2-1 and Dunrobin 8-5. This is the quinella bet of the day.

RACE FOUR – The third race has 3-year-old maidens travelling again over the five straight course and seems tailor made for the Diamond Mile winning duo of trainer Robert Pearson and owner Wilbert Bagwandeen and their charge Shalini’s Gold. Shanlini’s Gold is expected to be the 7-5 favourite with her main dangers being Jammin (3-1) and Key Witness (3-1).

RACE FIVE – A 350,000 -$300,000 Claiming race over nine furlongs and 25 yards which should be decided by one of two trainers, Anthony Nunes and Wayne DaCosta. Nunes is represented by the rough campaigner Stir It Up while DaCosta has chosen to place Storm into the claiming ranks for the first time. Storm will be the overwhelming favourite at probably 3-5 but it is not a done deal as Stir It Up is a fighter.

RACE SIX – The Dye Job Stakes named in honour of one of the best foreigners to race at Caymanas, is for two-year-old winners and is to be run over six furlongs. The race has two foreigners, American Invader and Stranger Danger as the leading duo and both are trained by Wayne DaCosta. American Invader wobbled over 5 ½ furlongs on last and was caught by Stranger Danger in the nick of time after being slowly out of the box. The local assault is led by Juice Man and Universal Boos both from the barn of Anthony Nunes. A good quinella might be Universal Boss/Stranger Danger. Expect Universal Boss and American Boss to vie vigorously for the lead. Odds: Stranger Danger 4-5; Universal Boss 3-1; Juice Man 9-1 and American Invader 5-2.

RACE SEVEN – Another two-year-old race, this time for maidens only is the seventh event which honours lead ing racing man of yester years, Andrew H B Aguilar. It is to be competed for over one mile, the longest juvenile event thus far this season. In this race, Supreme Soul a half-brother to Bigdaddykool makes his debut. The chestnut colt comes up against fairly moderate rivals with the exception of Duke, so it should be a straight fight between the two with the first timer being the chosen one.

RACE EIGHT – This $180,000 race over 8 ½ furlongs sees two horses Foot Soldier and Late N Drafty stepping down significantly on the claiming ladder. Go with Foot Soldier and Shane Ellis. Odds expected – Foot Soldier 7-5 and Late N Drafty 3-1.

RACE NINE – Bottom of the barrel claimers race over 3 furlongs. Tough race to decide as any number can play with number 3 Copperfield given the task to win this one at probable odds of 6-1.

RACE TEN – Division Two of a maiden condition race for 3-year-olds where another chance is given to Cerasini who has run second in her last three outings. Pure Heart, another trying hard to break his maiden should be close by.

ELEVENTH RACE – Restricted Allowance 11 for 3-year-olds going 6 furlongs. Resurgence, K J Express and Ackee Pie are the main contenders. Gallopja.com is taking a chance with Ackee Pie.
