KINGSTON, Jamaica –  The seventh race of nine on the Caymanas New Year’s Day card turned out to be a pulsating duel involving Unwritten Law (Aaron Chatrie) and Sure Curlin (Robert Halledeen).

The two were in combat from the off, with neither giving any quarter, fighting hammer and tongs for the entirety of the race.

Both Chatrie and Halledeen were digging deep into their resources and when they flashed by the winning post it was the more experienced Sure Curlin (Perfect Curlin – Sure To Cure) getting home by a neck. Don’tplaywithmagic was third.

This was the first winner for the sire Perfect Curlin.
