KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Wayne DaCosta went further ahead of rival Anthony Nunes in the titanic struggle for the right to be called champion trainer 2018, when Storm was a five and a half length winner of the second race on Boxing Day – a $350,000 - $300,000 claiming event run over seven furlongs.

The overwhelming 1-9 favourite Storm was ridden to victory by apprentice Christopher Mamdeen and paid $56.00 to win.

Second went to 11-1 shot Princess Briannah with Phillip Parchment aboard while third was Double Deal at 18-1. The winning time was 1:27.0.

Storm was claimed by trainer Lorne Kirlew for owner Kevin Whitter. A total of 58 claims were placed in the claiming box for Storm.
