Smokescreen arrives as the 28-1 upsetter, double for jockey Aaron Chatrie

KINGSTON, Jamaica – After seven races in which the favoured horses gained the ascendency, the upset winner finally came in the eighth race, as Smokescreen won at the charming odds of 28-1.
The event was an Optional Claiming for $250,000 - $200,000 horses over the five-straight course.
Ridden by jockey Aaron Chatrie, Smokescreen, trained, owned and bred by David Lee Sin beat 3-5 favourite Big Black Nation by three parts of a length with Dr Banner third. This was the second win on the day for Chatrie.
Smokescreen paid $1,411 to win while the exacta came in at $5,200.
The winning time done by Smokescreen was 1:02.0.
