KINGSTON, Jamaica - Two-year-old American-bred bay filly Sistren Treasure continued to make her presence felt on local soil after a fighting win in the Dye Job Sprint over 6 furlongs (1,200m) on Saturday, December 17, 2022.

Bred by Brethren out of Katira, Sistren Treasure came from behind runners to beat long-time leader Is That A Fact and FlyBlueJet by a short head in the native-bred and imported two-year-old Restricted Stakes contest. With splits of 23.1 x 47.2, the final time was recorded at 1:15.0.

Trainer Gary Subratie said that he was pleased with the effort shown by his charge as Sistren Treasure continued to improve.

"She [Sistren Treasure] has been asking for a distance of ground and so I knew that she would get up in time for the win. She always wanted to go longer. I am really pleased with her run here.

Subratie continued: "There was no race available [in terms of distance] apart from this race for her. I'm going to look at the programme, and see what comes up, but she might not race again until January.

Ridden by Dane Dawkins, Sistren Treasure raced in fourth place behind Is That A Fact (Omar Walker) who took up the running leaving the 5-furlong (1,000m) marker. FlyBlueJet (Anthony Thomas) chased with Running Glory (Reyan Lewis) in third place.

Is That A Fact opened up ahead of FlyBlueJet as they approached the distance, with Sister Treasure now in gear. Turning for home, Is That A Fact looked like a winner with a furlong to go, but Sistren Treasure exploded late and got there in time for her second win from three starts.
