KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Trevor “Slicer” Simpson continued his sensational run since he returned for his winter break after riding in North America for most of the year. Simpson started his local sojourn on New Year's Day.
Simpson shot to the lead on Eye Candy leaving the four -furlong marker in the four-year-old and up non-winners of two race run over seven and a half furlongs.
Trained by Stephen Todd, Eye Candy went off at odds of 2-1. Second was the 9-2 chance My Mom Juss with third going to Isotope at odds of 11-1.
The winning time for a mile was seven and half furlongs was 1:35.2.
