KINGSTON, Jamaica - The War Zone Sprint at 5 ½ furlongs brings together eight three-year-olds (non-winners of three – local bred) horses and a non-four for imported horses.

This Sprint Contest ( 5 ½ furlongs) named after the former Triple Crown winner will be run on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Caymanas Park. It is scheduled as the day’s fourth event.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the eight horses nominated is provided below.

.1 – TALONA is a dark bay filly (April 27) by Bayern out of To My Delight trained by Philip Feanny with Youville Pinnock aboard. Talona has been a model of consistency throughout her seven-race career. She is stepping up in grade to compete on Saturday, doing so in pink form having been close to Princsshootingstar just 14 days ago. She will have a dominant say in the outcome.

2 – LUKSOL is a bay filly (USA – March 2) by Tapiture out of Stunning Taste trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen aboard. This foreigner has failed to impress on so many occasions, it is difficult to give her any sort of backing.

3 – PRNCSSHOOTINGSTAR is a bay filly (March 30) by Buzz Nightmare out of Khaleesi’s Revenge trained by Philip Feanny with Anthony Thomas aboard. Returned after a long break two weeks aback, putting away rivals in easy fashion racing down the five straight chute. On Saturday, Prncsshootingstar is teamed with the now freelancing champion jockey Anthony Thomas, who should put the filly in front and prove difficult to catch over this sprint trip.

4 – CHAMPION BUBBLER is a bay filly (USA – February 14) by Tapiture out of Countess Clare trained by Spencer Chung with Reyan Lewis aboard. This foreigner won on debut and is returning from a long break of 112 days. Will have to wait against this well-seasoned and talented opposition.

5 – PHOENIX RISEN is a chestnut colt (February 16) by Traditional out of Impetus trained by Ryan Darby with Paul Francis aboard. Not ready for these.

6 – KP CHOICE is a bay colt (March 10) by Nasheet out of Drop Them trained by Keffin Murray with Chalrick Budhai aboard. This bay colt is slowly but surely finding his way in this grouping. KP Choice will be effective and will earn.

7 – PELICULA is a bay filly (April 19) by Soul Warrior out of Milestone trained by Richard Azan with Shavon Townsend aboard. Cannot be given a serious chance of winning.

8 – RUBYISTHEONE is a bay filly (April 28) by Natural Selection out of Come Dance With Me trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster aboard. The learning experience continues in this grade for Rubyistheone.
