KINGSTON, Jamaica – After suffering from shin injury issues after winning the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes (mile) on Boxing Day of last year, Run Thatcher Run returned to the track for the first time this season and was able to get the job done fairly easily in a non-winners of three (three-year-olds) and Optional Claiming event over six furlongs just minutes ago at Caymanas Park.
The three-year-old bay colt by Fearless Vision – Ahwhofah) with Omar Walker in the saddle came out well from the 10 draw and stayed with the leading pack including Crucial Appeal (Dane Nelson).
The two pulled away and were engaged in a brief tussle in the straight before Run Thatcher Run pulled away to win by just over three lengths from Crucial Appeal with third going to Wartime (Oneil Scott).
The winning time for six furlongs was 1:12.3.
After the race, the trainer of Run Thatcher Run, Wayne DaCosta revealed that he may well run his colt next week in a 7 ½ furlong event.
