KINGSTON, Jamaica – The following are special notes by the Quick Galloper for the nine-race programme at Caymanas Park on Saturday, May 22, 2021.



The following are first time starters:

Race 1

#4 Take Two: four-year-old bay filly by Film Director – Breathless.

Race 2

 #3 Tiz Dancer: three-year-old bay filly by Liquidity – Come Dance With Me.

#4 Baton Rouge: three-year-old bay colt by Natural Selection – Little Wasp

#5 Ring Charmer: three-year-old bay filly by Where’s The Ring – Charming Beauty

#6 Queen T: three-year-old bay filly by Deputy Glitters – Princess Sellena

#7 Simba The Lion: three-year-old chestnut colt by Lion Tamer – Who’s Orchard

The fourth race on the day, which is for bottom of the barrel claimers has the maximum field of 16 starters. Of those 16 starters, there is 10-year-old Unbreakable who has raced a whopping 104 times to achieve his 25 victories.

In that same race there is Powerful Red who at 12 years must be the oldest horse currently racing at Caymanas Park. Powerful Red has started 97 times for his 10 wins.


Dick Cardenas who recently returned from a suspension top the jockeys’ list for the most rides.

Cardenas known to racing fans as the “Wily Coyote” seven rides.

He is followed by apprentice Tevin Foster with six rides and co-champion Dane Nelson also with six rides.

Interestingly, the other co-champion and current leader Anthony Thomas seems to be taking a break of sorts with only five rides on the day.

Jockeys Matthew Bennett, Samantha Fletcher, Orlando Foster, Paul Francis, Richard Henry, Jemar Jackson, Ruja Lahoe, Ramon Napare, Kemoy Parchment, Omar Simpson, Ian Spence, Devon A Thomas and O’brien White have only one ride on the day.
