After a driving finish Pure Heart ridden by title chasing jockey Anthony Thomas and trained by Wayne DaCosta was just able to get home from So Smooth (Javaniel Patterson) and Hot Ice (Christopher Mamdeen).
Following a stewards’ inquiry, Pure Heart’s number was taken down and the race awarded to So Smooth, with second going to Hot Ice while Pure Heart languished in third slot.
So Smooth went off at odds of 7-2 and paid $248.00 to win.
