PROVEN Wealth Limited has committed $500,000 in sponsorship towards the inaugural staging of the ultra-rich Mouttet Mile Race Day, it was announced at a press conference held at Proven Wealth Limited on Haining Road in New Kingston on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

Miguel Walker, assistant vice-president of wealth management at Proven said the Mouttet Mile is right up his company’s alley in terms of its target market and so it was a no-brainer for his team to come on board.

“It is our pleasure to partner with the team from the Mouttet Mile. We believe that this prestigious sporting event is a game changer in the racing arena and here at Proven we are believers in innovation and performance — levers that, once put into play, can lead to fundamental successes.

“We take this opportunity to congratulate our partner, Supreme Ventures, and we wish them the very best on this execution,” Walker said.

Gary Peart, executive chairman of Supreme Ventures Limited, welcomed the sponsorship for Proven Wealth Limited, describing the partnership as the perfect fit for the Mouttet Mile.

“The Mouttet Mile is the pre-eminent celebration of horse racing. It’s the richest horse racing event in the Caribbean — the purse is US$125,000 — and we also have an auxiliary race that will be called the Chairman’s Plate. All other races on the day will have a purse of a minimum of $1 million.

“The beautiful thing about the Mouttet Mile, where you see the best of Caymanas Park, is the infield experience that our partner Proven decided to come on board with, and it will be a wonderful event,” promised Peart. “The dressing, the food, the drinking among other innovations, but most importantly we aim to turn patrons into owners of horses by the end of the event,” Peart said.

The fact that the Mouttet Mile (invitational) carries a total purse of US$125,000 makes this the largest purse for a single event offered at Caymanas Park. Along with the historic Mouttet Mile set for December 3, 2022, another new event, the Chairman’s Plate worth US$25,000, will also be staged over nine furlongs and 25 yards for qualified horses at the Overnight Allowance level.

The Mouttet Mile takes its name from its main sponsor Paul Mouttet, chairman of Trinidad and Tobago-based Zodiac Caribbean Ventures Limited, currently the largest shareholder of SVREL’s mother company Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL).
