KINGSTON, Jamaica – In the tight race for the trainers’ championship, Wayne DaCosta drew first blood when Poker Star obliged at 1-9 in the second race run just moments ago at Caymanas Park.

DaCosta’s main rival Anthony Nunes took the second spot with Apollo Bay (5-2) with third going to Princess Brianna (16-1).

At this point, DaCosta has taken over the lead from Nunes but it is still early in the proceedings.

The winning time was 1:00.3 for five furlongs round with splits of 23.4 x 47.1.

Poker Star and Apollo Bay were claimed from the race with Poker Star returning to the winners’ enclosure looking quite lame.
