KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Donovan Plummer closed a double on the day when his charge Persistent One ridden by Tevin Foster won the Caymanas Saturday sixth at odds of 8-5.
In this five straight event for four-year-old and upwards maidens at the five straight distance, Persistent One drawn at nine moved immediately over to the inside rails while 4-5 on favourite Commissioner (Youville Pinnock) tracked across from the prohibitive one draw to centre track.
The two battled it out in the last furlong but in the end it was win number two on the day for Plummer with Persistent One. Commissioner was second and Lion’s Den third.
