Welcome to PUNTERS AT THE PARADE RING race day preview for Saturday, December 3, 2022.  

We have two trophies on the program, the Chairman Plate for Overnight allowance going 9 furlongs and 25 yards, and the inauguration of the Mouttet Mile for Grade One horses, carries a stake value of JMD 18,000,000. 

Let us first take a look at the Mouttet Mile where we have 16 entrants. None of the 16 horses is without a chance of coming away with the major slice of the purse. However, I have narrowed it down to 10 horses namely Atomica, Mahogany, Calculus, Runaway Algo, She's My Destiny, Excessive Force, Jordan Reign's, Oneofakind, I am Fred and I've Got Magic. 

Atomica has the best chance of being in the winner's enclosure following her facile victory in her last effort having a few of these well beaten. Forget her running in the Gold Cup as she was hindered several times in that race. 

The horse that I pick to run second is Runaway Algo who has changed his running style from being in the lead to that of running on. I believe if this horse is nearer to the headlines, he will get the better of Calculus, who I expect to finish third. For the fourth spot look no further than the Gold Cup winner Mahogany who although winning over 8 1/2 furlongs may find the pace a bit taxing with the likes of Atomica on the headlines. For the minor placing, you can use any of the six other horses that I have mentioned. 

For the secondary feature which is for Overnight Allowance horses, my fancies are Crimson, Perfect Brew, Brinks, Miniature Man, and the old stager Hover Craft. My preference goes to Crimson who finished second to Atomica in the Jamaica Cup. He likes two turns and will be coming hand over fist for Brinks who I expect to be in front at the furlong marker. Another who will also be coming at them is Hover Craft who will have a fast pace to run at. Closing the Hi-5 should be Perfect Brew and Miniature Man. 

RACE ONE 

The ones that I am looking for the winner to come from are Dodge This Link, Anngelos, Pharoah It Is, Berning Red, Killer Bee, and Colorado Ranger.

Dodge This Link ran a cracker the last time and should be part of the trifecta. Anngelos ran no race in her previous race but has beaten a few in this race and is no pushover. Pharoah It Is came from a long way back in his last race and he will be vying for the top prize here. Berning Red who was a Classic aspirant should be able to take care of this field although blowing hot and cold in his previous races.

Killer Bee is gritty as they come and should be coming at them in deep stretch while Colorado Ranger is a sly customer.

I am taking Berning Red to win from Pharoah It Is to complete the hi-5 look at Dodge This Link Anngelos, Killer B, and Colorado Ranger. 

RACE 2

This race should be a good fight between the DaCosta pair, and Regal And Royal.

My preference goes to Ianzha Links ahead of Regal And Royal then Iannai Links, Ring Charmer, and Khai Alexis. 

RACE 3

This race is very knotty. The winner should come from Den Street, Kay Boy, Azaria, Secret Traveller, Rum Puncher, True Al Sky, Alexa Lodge, and One Don. My idea of the winner is the unlucky Azaria to get the better of the also unlucky Secret Traveller. True Al Sky, Rum Puncher, Kay Boy, and One Don. 

RACE 4

This should be a match race between Another Vigorous and Sure Curlin. Others that can get a look in are Another Champion, Conundrum and Legal Opportunity. My preference is for Another Vigorous from Sure Curlin. 

RACE 5

I look no further than Fly Messenger Fly to be a lonely winner. The second should be between Babylike and Riddim who is improving with each race. One Like It, Power Of Faith, and Lion Of Ekati should challenge for the minor places. 

RACE 6 

This race should be decided among the quartet of JJTheStriker, Regnant, Chandra's Law, and Silver Fox. My preference goes to Regnant who is coming off a good break to get the better of Chandra's Law and JJTheStriker with Silver Fox completing the superfecta. 

RACE 7 

This race has in three foreigners. My idea of the winner is Box Box from Fred The Great and Running Glory. 

RACE 8

We have a maiden field of four-year-olds that could go either way among eight runners namely Posing Already, Real Bigman, Blue Persuasion, Manaco, Princess Sylvia, Print Quality, Don Vincenzo, and Asurety. I am looking at Real Bigman to come out as the winner from Don Vincenzo and Print Quality.

RACE 9 

This race should see Slammer winning from Power, Sunset Silhouette and Tekapunt. Good effort should also come from March And Shoot.
