KINGSTON, Jamaica - On Thursday, 17th June, 2021 the Jamaica Racing Commission heard an appeal submitted by Jockey Oshane Nugent against the Stewards’ decision handed down on Tuesday 13th October, 2020 to suspend him for fourteen (14) race days. This is in relation to interference caused to horse #8 Colour Me Tan leaving the 800-meter point that resulted in the fall of horses numbered 4 Nomas, 5 Smoke Haze, 6 Persistent One and 12 Gorgeous Gift, during the running of the fifth race on Sunday 27th September 2020 while aboard horse #10 Primal Fear.

After careful review of the race film and submissions made by Mr. Lerone Robinson, representative to Jockey Oshane Nugent, and the Jamaica Racing Commission’s Operations Steward, The Commission saw no reason to overturn the decision of the Stewards. Jockey Oshane Nugent’s suspension will therefore commence on Saturday 26th June 2021.
