KINGSTON, Jamaica - FOLLOWING Noble Impulse’s maiden win on Sunday, July 17, trainer Anthony Nunes is of the view that his three-year-old chestnut colt could develop into a noteworthy sprinter down the road.
Ridden by Tevin Foster, Noble Impulse (Midnight Hawk – Herroyalhighness) slammed rivals by 6¼ lengths in a  native-bred, three-year-old Maiden Condition race over the five-straight (1,000m) course. Although the final time of 1:02.3 was nothing to get excited about, on a recently re-sanded track, the manner of victory caught the eye of many.
At the off, Noble Impulse showed good speed along with Cotterwood Kathy (Matthew Bennett), Joe (Dane Dawkins), and Another Wave (Paul Francis). As the runners sorted themselves out passing the dummy rails, and moving to the main track, Noble Impulse was already in full control of the race.
With more than one change of his hold by Foster, Noble Impulse pulled away for an easy win. Another Wave came through for second place ahead of Joe and first-time runner Ophelia’s Mom, the mount of Shavon Townsend.
“It was a very good performance from Noble Impulse to win. He has shown improvement and I think he will get better the older he gets. In terms of development, I think he will be a decent sprinter going forward,” Nunes in his pre-race interview.
