KINGSTON, Jamaica – After the completion of the nine races on the Monday (December 26, 2022) card, Dane Dawkins has maintained his two win lead over Anthony Thomas in the race to become champion jockey 2022.
Dawkins started the day two ahead of Thomas (97 – 95), with the latter striking in the second on Silverstine for trainer Lee Clarke. At this stage Thomas was just one win behind Dawkins.
The response from Dawkins was quick. The leading rider brought home K D Rocket in the third, to re-establish his two-win advantage.
After the third, neither Dawkins nor Thomas were able to find the winning line in front.
Looking at today’s (Tuesday, December 27, 2022) nine races, Thomas has secured eight rides, now reduced to seven, after Princess Sylvia was declared a late non-starter in the fifth event.
Dawkins has seven rides lined-up on the day.
