KINGSTON, Jamaica – After a series of favourites holding court in the first six races of the mid-week card at Caymanas Park, which saw the Sunrise 6 paying a meagre $3704 but Mr Lyndhurst broke the ice in no uncertain manner by winning the day’s feature, the Millard Ziadie Memorial Cup at spanking odds of 26-1.
Ridden by Orlando Foster and trained by Norman Smith, Mr Lyndhurst defeated Kimberly Gold another outsider at 20-1, and Diferentgeneration who went off at odds of 6-1.
The winning time by Mr Lyndhurst in 350-300,000 claiming event for three-year-olds and up over 5 ½ furlongs was 1:09.0.
Neither the Superfecta nor the Hi-5 were caught by punters with both exotic wagers having carryovers.
