KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Quick Galloper has compiled a list of facts and figures from the 16 starters in the Mouttet Mile scheduled to be contested on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Caymanas Park.
1 – Three are two fillies in the Mouttet Mile – She’s My Destiny and Atomica. Makeupartist is the only mare in the line-up.
2 – The oldest horse is Duke at six years.
3 - There are three, three-year-olds in the field of 16 – Runaway Algo, Atomica, and Blue Vinyl. Of special note, both Atomica and Blue Vinyl were born on the same day, March 18, according to the official past performance.
4 – Of the 16 starters in the Mouttet Mile, seven are foreigners.
5 – The horse who has registered the most wins is Duke, who in his 60-race career has finished first 13 times. Duke is also the horse with the most number of career starts.
6 – There are two grey horses in the Mouttet Mile, foreigner Race Car and Duke.
7 - Two stallions, Sensational Slam and Bern Identity have two of their offspring in the Mouttet Mile. The two horses sired by Sensational Slam are Mahogany and Calculus, while She’s My Destiny and Blue Vinyl represent Bern Identity.
8 – In the saddles, there are five champion jockeys, past and present. They are Omar Walker, Anthony Thomas, Shane Ellis, Christopher Mamdeen, and Dick Cardenas.
9 – No apprentice at the present time has been able to secure a mount in the Mouttet Mile.
10 – There are two champion trainers (past and present) with horses in the Mouttet Mile. They are Anthony Nunes (Oneofakind), and Philip Feanny (I’ve Got Magic and Excessive Force).
