Mamdeen on the double as Virtuoso gains redemption after DQ

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The last time Virtuoso raced was on April 22, and then she went by the post in first place with apprentice Christopher Mamdeen in the saddle but was later disqualified and the race awarded to Kalahari.
Returning to the races for the first time since then on today’s 13-race offering at Caymanas Park, Mamdeen made no mistake this time, winning the Restricted Allowance event -non-winners of two for four-year-olds an up over six furlongs by 2 ¾ lengths. It was the seventh of 13 races on the Saturday card.
Virtuoso trained by Junior Small won at odds of 4-5.
Second went to Msmyrtlerichiegirl at 8-5 with third the position occupied by Dad’s Luck at odds of 5-1.
Virtuoso provided Mamdeen with his second winner on the day.
