Mamdeen, Nunes start Sunday 2000 Guineas Race Day with Mirabilis

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fairy tale level of success currently being experienced by apprentice Christopher Mamdeen and trainer Anthony Nunes continued a short while ago as they combined to score with Mirabilis in the first of 10 races on the 2000 Guineas Race Day at Caymanas Park.
Mamdeen has now won four of the last 12 races run at the Park over the last two days and is now two wins ahead of Omar Walker in the championship race. While, Nunes has done even better with five winners from 12 races over the same period as Mamdeen.
Mirabilis won fairly easily over 6 ½ furlongs in a Restricted Allowance five-year-old and upwards – non winners of three/other than.
The winning time was 1:21.3.
