KINGSTON, Jamaica – Making full use of her presence as the real speed Make Up Artist came of age with a significant gate to win victory in the one mile St Elizabeth Distaff (filly and mares only - Overnight Allowance) at a mile.

Jockey Dick Cardenas, always at his best when riding in front, did not hesitate to put Make Up Artist to the lead. The four-year-old bay filly by Adore The Gold – Lipstick Lily trained by Jason DaCosta was well rated by Cardenas on the lead as the likes of Go Deh Girl (Omar Walker), Lure of Lucy (Anthony Thomas), and Best Daughter Ever (Javaniel Patterson) played catch up.

Make Up Artist turned for home still with the lead and although racing a mile for the first time found more to win by 5 3/4 lengths. Best Daughter Ever was second Awesome Treasure third.

Of note is that Best Daughter Ever (second); Awesome Treasure (third); Lure of Lucy (fourth), and Sweet N Smart (fifth) were all bred in the United States.

The winning time was 1:138.4, as Make Up Artist gave DaCosta his third winner on Jamaica Day.
